I now have confirmed transportation from Gainesville, GA to Amicalola Falls State Park, where I will begin my hike at the foot of the approach trail.
I'll be meeting an old online friend, Michael, in Gainesville, whom I haven't actually seen in person in about forever. We'll do breakfast, and then head over to Amicalola, where he'll hike part of the approach trail with me, so I'm definitely going to be off to a good start.
The great thing is, this helped solidify my departure for the trail. Despite having gotten train tickets to Georgia two weeks ago, the past few days, I've been having a bit of an I'm-not-ready-for-this panic. When Michael messaged me confirming he'd be able to get me to the trail, the only possible response I could give was "yes".
So, here I go. Just over two weeks until I leave, and still a lot of work to do, both prep for AT and other stuff. But still, I'm pretty excited about this!
Now, back to Season 4 of House of Cards…
