Since Beast was under doctor's orders to not hike for another day (and also because he was waiting for his hiking boots that he had sent home with his winter gear to return), I decided to wait in Marion with him as a show of solidarity, rather than immediately getting back on the trail.
So, today was rather low-key. We finished our resupply chores early. We found Sassy in town while we were walking to Walmart, and offered her space in our room when she asked.
We spent the rest of the day hanging out with Sassy. In the evening, we went to a moonshine distillery for samples (where their store cats say on our laps), before going to a Japanese restaurant, "Yummy Yummy".
We attempted to find a way back to the trail for tomorrow, but struck out a couple of times. We'll figure that out tomorrow morning, I guess.
