It stormed overnight, with rain and lightning, but the weather cleared up nicely by morning, and it was a nice day out.
I got breakfast at the Looney Moose, getting a ride to the restaurant about three quarters of a mile down the road from Stratton Motel with one of the morning shuttles. While waiting for my food, three older ladies at the next table over struck up a conversation with me. After I was done, I found out that they had paid for my meal, the first time that’s happened to me on the trail. (Apparently, I was sufficiently entertaining. But in any case, thanks so much!)
I walked back to the motel, and took a nap. The rest of the day was pretty lazy and low-key. I did my laundry at the laundromat down the road from the motel, grabbing lunch at the gas station across the street while my clothes washed.
Repeating my dinner from last night, I got a nice steak dinner at Stratton Plaza, and, not actually having done my resupply (and still being a little sore from yesterday), decided to zero again tomorrow.
