Crawford Notch
Location: Gentian Pond Shelter (1843.4 Crawford Notch Parking lot - 1856.2 Mt. Washington fillin) / White Mountains Lodge and Hostel (1902.6 miles)

Today was our last day in the Whites. After our breakfast buffet at the Highland Center, we headed to the Crawford Notch parking lot where we left off a few days ago, picking up a hitchhiker going there as well.

Mt. Washington Summit
Location: (1856.2 Mt. Washington - 1869.7 Pinkham Notch fillin) / AMC Highland Center (1889.8 miles)

We got up around 6:30, and left White Birches a little after 7, slightly behind schedule, though not terribly so. After dropping my car off at Pinkham Notch, we headed to the Mt. Washington Auto Road to drive up the tallest mountain in the Whites and begin our hike back down to Pinkham Notch.

Longstride at South Twin Mountain
Location: Crawford Notch parking lot (1829 Galehead Hut - 1843.4 Crawford Notch Parking lot fillin) / White Birches Camping Park (1876.3 miles)

Galehead Hut provided us with an excellent breakfast of oatmeal, pancakes, and bacon. I ate as much as I could manage to fit in my stomach.

Lack of View from Franconia Ridge
Location: Galehead Hut (1816 Franconia Notch - 1829 Galehead Hut fillin) (1861.9 miles)

We planned to leave at 5:45 today, but we did not actually manage to leave Chet's Place until 6:15. We made a quick stop at McDonald's for Papa Monkey and Rainbow (I had already eaten my pop tarts by then), only to find that they weren't open because of something wrong with their cash registers. So instead, we went to Dunkin Donuts.

Warning Sign
Location: Franconia Notch (NH 25 - 1799.7 Kinsman Notch fill-in) / Chet's Place (1848.9 miles)

We managed a quick departure this morning as well; I got up at 5:15, and we left Hikers Welcome by 6. This wasn't quick enough for Papa Monkey, who wanted to leave earlier; Rainbow had overslept, and Papa Monkey was annoyed I hadn't done more to make sure he was up and moving. (I'll note that I've never needed to give either of them a wake up call before, and there was no reason to think one would have been necessary today.)
