Day 137: Second Zero in Queenstown
Monday, March 25, 2024 10:39 pm
Location: Queenstown / Nomads Queenstown (2758.1 km)
If yesterday was a lazy zero, today was even lazier.
- As yesterday, I was in no rush to get up. I slept in until almost 9 am.
- The two guys who took the top bunks yesterday were out all night, and didn’t get back until 5 am. One of them was too drunk to make it up to his bunk, and slept on the floor for an hour. They were both gone by the time I got back from breakfast.
- I got breakfast, pancakes, from Yonder, across the street from the hostel. It was good.
- After breakfast, I took a walk down the waterfront, along St. Omer Park, named for a prominent figure in Queenstown’s early history, who (among other things) saw the area devoid of trees and sought to remedy that.
- I again got lunch at McDonald’s
- I got ice cream from the Patagonia Ice Creamery & Chocolaterie on the waterfront. It was excellent.
- Dinner, a burger and beer, was at The World Bar, also across the street from the hostel.
Tomorrow, I’ll be back on the trail, after catching a bus at 8 am to Greenstone Station, via Glenorchy.
