Two nights ago, I discovered while setting up my tent that I was missing one of my tent stakes. Probably, it got accidentally dropped or left behind at Vidette Meadow. This morning, when removing one of the stakes, its pull cord broke, and I had to dig it out of the ground to get it out. Good thing I brought two spares.

After a tough, grueling hike, Dylan, Flowers, Free, Quoi, and I completed Glen Pass, the first of the six major passes on this segment of our hike, between Kearsarge Pass and our next town destination, Mammoth Lakes.

We had planned on leaving Bishop today, after yesterday’s lazy double-zero, but got caught up in a wave of being lazy and relaxed and didn’t actually bother to try and get back on the trail, despite today being Memorial Day, which should have given us ample opportunities to hitchhike out.
