When I delayed my planned thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail last April due to COVID-19, I was cautiously optimistic that, by April of this year, the virus would have been well under control, things would mostly be “back to normal”, and I’d be on trail. That didn’t really happen.

Today was my last day on the Appalachian Trail as part of my Tuscarora-Appalachian Trail loop. It seemed like it was going to be a race against the weather, as the wind, and clouds gradually picked up.

Returning to Maryland, and now heading south, rather than north, the first of three days on the Appalachian Trail in Maryland this hike got me some nice views I wasn’t able to see the last time I was here.
