It was not my plan today to hike through a hailstorm with thunder and lightning at 11,500 feet, but, I guess I can check that off my bucket list now.

It was cool, though not as cold as it was yesterday. Nevertheless, I did not manage to get out of my tent earlier than usual, let alone to see the sunrise. I still managed to have a good view from my campsite, though.

Today was a low key day of relaxing and preparation for truly entering the Sierra. I tried to sleep in, being that breakfast didn’t start until 8 am, but that’s kind of hard when you’re sleeping outdoors and the sun shines on everything. It was a bit cool overnight, and there was a fair amount of condensation on my tent, but that’s probably going to be par for the course while I’m in the mountains.
