The day's plan being a relatively short 14.5 miles to the Eckville Shelter, I wasn't too much in a hurry this morning, and didn't make it down to the 7 am continental breakfast until almost 7:15. By that point, One Feather had already finished and was on his way out, planning to take a nearly 3 mile local bike path back to where it intersects with the AT, just south of Port Clinton.

If only just barely, I managed to start hiking before 7 am on the third day in a row. The trail started off rocky, and then I got a nice section that let me fly down the trail for awhile, only to eventually turn into more rocks as I got closer to Port Clinton, PA.

For the second day in a row, I left camp before 7 am. I'm enjoying the day being cooler when getting started, but the glare from the sun being so low in the sky is kind of annoying at times. The trail this morning started off a bit rocky, but gradually mellowed out towards the afternoon.

I got an early start today, before 7 am, hoping to get more hiking in before it got warmer. Instead, I got to hike through a very light rain for about 20 minutes, which started right before I left the shelter.

With an 18 mile day planned, I decided I wanted to get somewhat of an early start. I woke up at 6:15, early for me, but the other two who stayed at the shelter had already left by that point. I managed to leave myself around 7:30.
