After passing over one of the most scenic passes of the CDT, I followed side trails for most of the day to arrive in Pinedale, my next trail town in Wyoming.

Now more than halfway through the Wind River Range, the trail took me on a “short” but tough day through a land of lakes and creeks.

A day of hard but absolutely beautiful hiking took me through the Cirque of the Towers and back to the CDT through a landscape pock-marked with lakes.
