I stopped by REI yesterday for some last-minute purchases. I bought some water purifier tablets (just in case the filter breaks or fails), two more extra ultralight dry sacks (one to replace one of the not-as-light sacks I already had), and a ultralight compression sack to replace the one for my sleeping bag. I also got a lightweight wallet.

Monday night was my last night in my weekly D&D gaming group for the foreseeable future. I joined the group during its third session back in September 2000, and it's been fun times ever since then.

On Thursday, I went to the food store to look specifically for food that would be useful on the trail, without intending to actually buy anything, and then wound up buying a bunch of Clif bars, instant oatmeal, Mac & Cheese, and Ramen, since they were all on sale.
