The drizzle that started yesterday before I got to camp continued overnight, gradually picking up intensity to a light rain that continued until about 2:30 or 3 am. It would have been like any other night — just more soggy outside — had it not been for the leak in the center of my tent’s roof.

A foggy, dreary, and damp morning, I started hiking a little after 8. The trail continued through the forest, and for the morning, there weren’t any views of note.

Yesterday, I signed up for a 9 am shuttle back to the trail, so I woke up around 7. There was a diner across the street from the general store, but since it took me a while to actually get up and get packed, I decided to just eat pop tarts for breakfast, rather than going to the diner, to make sure I’d be on-time for the shuttle.

With more than 20 miles to my resupply in Trout Lake, I wanted to get up and get hiking early, to get to town as early in the day as possible. However, it was cool, foggy, and damp, which made me not exactly motivated to quickly get out of my tent this morning.

It was somewhat cool, humid, and dreary this morning, but that was fine; the afternoon would turn out to be much, much better.
