After getting back to the hotel at 4:15 am, I "slept in" until 8:30, at which point, I was remarkably awake. I'm sure the nap I took in the car while Rainbow drove part of the way back helped.

Today began with a question from Papa Monkey: how long would it take to drive to Maryland to get my car? The answer was seven and a half hours. That posed a second question: should we get it?

Today, Rainbow and I would finally fill in the 17.7 mile section between VT 103 and US 4, including Mt. Killington, that we skipped, while Papa Monkey drove back to Connecticut to deal with personal business and hopefully get his car fixed. We left the Yellow Deli this morning with a plan to stay at the Hart Family's place tonight, since that would be close to where we'd continue hiking from.

This morning's breakfast, courtesy of the Yellow Deli and assisted by other hikers staying there, was eggs, toast, rice, and kale, and was just as good as it has been the other two days we stayed.

We got up around 5:30, and went back to the main house for breakfast, with blueberry pancakes courtesy of Hammer Time. There was a light rain, starting the day off somewhat drearily.
