We had blueberry pancakes this morning (and juice, and hot chocolate). After a short detour back to Jug End to drop someone else off, Jess took me to Tyringham, where I got started at a little after 9. I had a great time Jess Treat's, and would happily recommend her hostel.

Location: Main Rd / Tyringham / Jess Treat's Hostel (1541.2 miles)

For breakfast, Jess made eggs for everyone that was there. I also had juice and hot chocolate (which was pretty awesome, since it was a bit cool this morning). She dropped me off at the trailhead at just after 8, and I got started on a 20.6 mile slackpack to Main Rd in Tyringham.

I had been planning on getting up at 5:30 and leaving around 6:30, to get an early start, but I didn't actually wake up until 6:15, and didn't leave until almost 7:30. None of the rain that was forecast overnight fell, and today started off cool.

Great Falls of the Housatonic River
Location: Brassie Brook Shelter (1503.8 miles)

I got started today around 7. A tenth of a mile later, I passed 700 miles remaining. After a nice, long, relatively flat section of trail (partially over roads), the trail began to climb Mt. Prospect. This provided a couple of nice views of a waterfall on the Housatonic River.

Connecticut Trailmixers
Location: Belters Campsite (1489.0 miles)

I got off to a lazy 9:30 am start, and made great time on the remainder of the flat trail along the Housatonic River, before the trail veered somewhat steeply uphill, with a bit of a rock scramble, and then back downhill towards CT 4.
