Water is a vital part of life. This makes water logistics a very important factor in long distance hikes. Lack of (as well as the occasional great abundance of) water on the Continental Divide Trail provided ample challenge along much of its distance.

Hike: Day Hikes

Today’s hike in the White Mountain National Forest combines the Imp Trail, a loop trail to the Imp Face viewpoint, and the North Carter Trail to reach the Appalachian Trail atop the Carter-Moriah Ridge, with a bonus mountain summit for good measure.
