The Benton MacKaye Trail is a footpath nearly 300 miles long in the Appalachian Mountains of Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. It is named for Benton MacKaye, who first had the idea for the Appalachian Trail. The BMT is managed by the Benton MacKaye Trail Association.

In 2019, I thru-hiked the Benton MacKaye Trail, hiking the entire trail in two sections between April 15 and July 5.
